Scholarships

The purpose of our scholarships is to support human achievement through the expansion of educational opportunities; to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and institutions who demonstrate a commitment to inspire, to advocate, and elevate humanity’s moral values; and to promote a better community through the provision of education.

Reverend Claude Lang Ministerial Scholarship

Provides supplemental financial support to a student enrolled in a Christian theological education and training program at an accredited institution. This initiative advances the education of students who are passionately engaged in the pursuit of their Christian Ministry, Christian Education, Youth Ministry, mission work, ministerial certification, and humanitarian service. Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of mission work or community service within ministry or possess two years of experience in campus ministry. Additionally, applicants should show sincere dedication to their ministry, reflecting a commitment to their faith and a desire to make a positive impact in their communities. This support not only aids in their educational journey but also empowers them to fulfill their calling in service to others.

Hazel Natalie Watson Music Scholarship

The Hazel Natalie Watson music scholarship provides supplemental financial support to a student enrolled in an approved music education program or a hands-on music instructional program. It advances and expands the study of piano education and instruction, vocal studies, classical music studies, worship music, and gospel music studies with preference given to underserved populations. By fostering talent and passion in music, this scholarship aims to empower to pursue their dreams and thrive in their musical journeys. Additionally, it seeks to create opportunities for diverse voices and perspectives in the music industry, enriching our cultural landscape and inspiring future generations.

Being a scholarship recipient is a transformative experience that opens doors to educational opportunities and personal growth. It not only alleviates financial burdens but also serves as a recognition of hard work and potential. As a recipient, you become part of a community that values education and supports aspiring leaders. This support can inspire you to excel in your studies and give back to others, creating a cycle of opportunity and encouragement for future generations.

All applications must be received at the beginning of each academic year, per state. All late applications will be considered for the next semester or academic year, pending approval from the Lang Watson Foundation’s Scholarship Committee and Board of Directors.

The Lang Watson Foundation does not discriminate against age, race, sex, Christian denomination, or socio-economic background. Extended family ties cannot apply for this scholarship. Students must be residents of the following U.S. states: Georgia, Illinois, California, and Indiana. The Scholarship Committee, under established guidelines, will select the final recipient and award amount.
